Mrs. Torgerson’s Newsletter- Room 104
June 1, 2018
We have our campfire coming up this Monday, June 4, at 6:30pm. We will gather by the “horseshoe” in the CTK parking lot. Please bring blankets or chairs to sit on. Our room parents have organized s’more supplies. Please note, this is not a concert. Think of it as a casual prayer service; a time to gather as a community and sing some songs. (I was a camp counselor at a Christian camp in Montana, and that’s where these songs came from. Jared, one of my co-counselors from camp will be joining us to play guitar.) We love it when parents join in on the songs! All families of my class are invited, siblings are more than welcome. Please no pets though. Hope to see you there!
Please send your child with a bag (grocery bag or reusable type bag) for cleaning next Wednesday. We will be cleaning out desks and sending home notebooks and supplies.
It’s hard to believe we have one week left together. But we will still be busy next week. We have things to finish! Just a note that your child is bringing home his or her final family letter this weekend. We will be making the letters into a book next week.
Ask your child about:
-the parts of speech quiz we took today
-our lesson on adaptations in science
-dividing with remainders
-practicing our campfire songs
-our final All-School Mass
-the 2nd/3rd grade switch
-how our local government runs
-the purpose of taxes
-our fun movie afternoon we had today (We watched Willy Wonka and the Charlie Factory, the 1970s version, after reading the book this month as a class. The kids loved the book!)
-the end of the year assessments we took this week (spelling, reading comprehension)
